Hi there,
Does anyone know of a psychiatrist (preferably female) who has experience in respectfully and collaboratively working with adults on the autism spectrum? My current one is not very knowledgeable of supports and resources and is not good at advocating for me. I need someone who won’t brush off my issues because I am ‘too high functioning’, but also won’t assume all of my ASD traits are automatically pathological.

Thanks for the link. The Spirale resource doesn’t seem to have psychiatrists among the professionals listed. I’ll do some more looking

I am passing on the following message from Kerry’s Place. They use Dr. Nyhus in the central region. Another psychiatrist that may meet that criteria is Dr. Devi Bijayalaxmi. They don’t use her directly but have heard of her. She is in Ajax. The office number they have for her is 905-683-0702.I hope this helps.
