I run a support group called Parent Share. We are a group of parent of adults with developmental disabilities. We would like to hear from a family(s) who have recently more their child into their own home and the struggles/joys they have experienced.

bheath@woodgreen.orgWe moved our son into an affordable apartment with a roommate in October. So far so good. We are thrilled that the boys are so independent. They will always need some help, but it is heartening that they mostly manage on their own. Both are high-functioning ASD men, and got out of the parental house (just) before 30.
